| 内容記述 | There is growing evidence that the stromal microenvironment can either positively or negatively regulate the neoplastic behavior of genetically aberrant cells through epigenetic modifications of gene expression. In this study, rat mammary tumors cells induced by the N-nitroso-N-methylurea were transplanted into the cleared fat pads of hosts, i.e., a normal mammary gland stromal microenvironment to see normalization of tumor cells. Consistent with the report by Maffini et al. (Am. J. Pathol., 167:1405, 2005), phenotypically normal ductal outgrowths were observed at from the injected site of mammary tumor cells at three months after transplantation. Currently, we are screening for epigenetically controlled genes involved in tumor normalization by means of both gene expression and CpG island microarrays. | |||||
