内容記述 | Because of the recent Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident in Japan caused by the big (earthquake)-tsunami on March 11, 2011, relatively volatile radionuclides were released to the atmosphere for a couple of times around the middle of March. The major radionuclides identified were tellurium-132, iodine-131, cesium-134 and cesium-137. Tellurium-132 has a short half-life of 3.2 d so that the ingestion of the radionuclide through food chain was thought to be negligible, however, the other radionuclides are in concern for public. In Kanto plain most areas returned to the normal dose rate, but in Fukushima is much higher than background level. Although agricultural products have already been well controlled of their radioactivity levels by screening at local governments, such edible wild plants have not been measured since these plants were taken by local people for personal consumption. In order to know the effect of food processing (washing and boiling) of edible wild plants to remove radionuclides, some wild plants were used for the present study. |
