内容記述 In recent years,autologous chondrocytes implantation (ACI) has become a widely used technique for treating full-dspth articular cartilage defects, and various groups have reported good to excellent results in clinical follow up. However, the histological appcarance of the reparative cartilage in human has not been adequately documented in the literature ,because only invasive techniques such as biopsy were used to evaluate it. A noninvasive technique for evaluating the detail of reparative cartilage fas been needed. Recently,a new MR imaging technique called delayed gadolinium-enhaced MR imaging of cartilage(dGEMRIC) has been developed as a sensitive and specific method for monitoring glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). which is critical for the mechanical support function of cartilage . The basis of dGEMRIC is that GAGs are negatively charged in the cartilage matrix due to abundant carboxyl and sulfate groups that are ionizsd at physiologic pH. The anionic molecule, Gadopenelate dimeglumine (Gd-DTPA2;Magnevist,Nihon Scherring,Osaka), if given time to penetrate cartilage tissue, will distribute in cartilage inwersely to the concentration of negatively charged GAGs.
