内容記述 | Backgraound. Lithium is widely used in the treatment of mood disorders, but little is known about its mechanisum of action. Repartition of lithium in the brain could help to the understanding of this mechanism, and therefore lead to a better individualized therapy. Methods. Direct 7Li spectroscopic imaging on humans has been developed and performed on a clinical magnetic resonance system. Spectroscopic images (SI) on phantoms have been acquired as a first step to validate the method, and in vivo images of human brains have been acquired afterwards. A phosphorus volume head coil was used for lithium experiments, with parameters optimized for this purpose. Results. SI of human brain has been realized, and our results are consistent with previous studies. They show little variations of the repartition of lithium inside the brain. Conclusion. Our images show the feasibility of these studies. Possible evolutions include a better resolution of the images, a better localization, and a quantitative analysis of the results. |
