内容記述 in drug-drug interactions, OATPs have been considered to play key roles in drug
absorption, distribution and excretion. Many anti-tumor drugs are substrates of OATPs and accumulating evidences in recent years have shown that OATPs distribute differently in tumor cells and/or tissues. Therefore, OATPs, especially the ones that are able to transport anti-tumor drugs, have been proposed to serve as novel therapeutics targets for future drug discovery. Our previous study revealed that X-ray irradiation can increase expression level of OATP family member OATP1A2 in breast cancer cells MCF7 and the combined treatment of X-ray together with OATP1A2 substrate methotrexate exerted a more significant effect on growth rate and cell death compared with irradiation or MTX treatment alone. In the current study performed at NIRS, we investigate the effect of high LET irradiation on expression of OATPs and the combined effect of irradiation and anti-tumor drugs.
