内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 To understand the possible influence from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident to the deep sea as well as the geochemical behavior and transport of radionuclide, 134, 137Cs, 239, 240, 241Pu and 237Np were observed in abyssal sediments in Northwest (NWP) and Central Equatorial Pacific (CEP), where the data on characteristics of them are extremely scarce after FDNPP accident, especially in the NWP subtropical gyre (NPSG) region. The FDNPP-derived radio-cesium has arrived at the sea floor of NWP before 2017, but only found in the Kuroshio-Oyashio Extension (KOE) region. And No FDNPP-derived Pu signals were detected in the abyssal sediments of NWP and CEP. Pu in NWP was mainly derived from global fallout and Pacific Proving Ground (PPG) close-in fallout but there still existed an extra non-FDNPP-derived Pu input at WP1 (39 ºN). Pu in the sediment of CEP has less affected by the PPG close-in fallout from Marshall Island, mainly derived from global fallout, with impact from close-in fallout of Johnston Atoll test. The KOE region was confirmed to be the most greatly affected area by the PPG close-in fallout Pu via Kuroshio transport while the lowest inventories of 239+240Pu and 237Np were found in NPSG region due to its oligotrophic characteristic. 237Np was originated from the same source with Pu and the latitudinal pattern of 237Np was also consistent with Pu. The 237Np inventories much less than Pu in sediments was mainly associated with the conservative behavior and lower particulate affinity of 237Np in seawater. High 237Np/239Pu atom ratios found at deeper layers of sediment and the opposite 237Np depth profile from 239+240Pu at SS than other stations was mainly resulted from the difference on the behavior of 237Np and 239Pu, the potential terrestrial influence of 237Np, as well as the higher sediment mixing rate.
