内容記述 | One of the applications of laser wakefield acceleration (LWFA) is a compact X-ray free-electron laser (XFEL), which is usually more than a few hundreds meters in size. We show the Japanese activities related to the topic as well as those in the world. We present recent results on electron generation, transport of electron beams, characterization of electron beams, and observation of radiation from an undulator. In our system, we constructed a dedicated platform that is equipped with a three-beam Ti:sapphire laser (1 J, 2J, and 10 J with the bandwidth limited pulse duration of ~25 fs) and a target chamber, an electron beam transport including beam monitors, and a very-short-period, variable-strength undulator, and an X-ray detector at SPring-8 Center in RIKEN, Harima. | |||||
