内容記述 We present the upgrade status of the J-KAREN laser system [1] at Kansai Photon Science Institute, National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (QST). The previous J-KAREN system enabled us to provide the high field physics experiments with the corresponding laser intensity of 1021Wcm-2, where we successfully obtained energetic hardon beams [2,3]. In order to explore physics with higher fields, the up-grade project of the J-KAREN system began in 2014 to achieve the world highest laser on-target intensity (~1022 Wcm-2) on target. The J-KAREN-P system will open up the door to relativisitc particle acceleration, especially that of hadrons, bright X-ray and -ray radiation generation and photo-nuclear science. The J-KAREN-P laser is a Ti:sapphire system with double chirped pulse amplification (CPA) providing a laser pulse with high-contrast ratio of 10-10 at -500 ps. The laser system successfully has amplified a pulse with the energy of ~56 J. The laser has been successfully compressed down to the duration of ~30 fs at full width at half maximum (FWHM) on target. These laser pulses are now fed into one of the target chambers with a short-focal length (f/1.4) off axis parabola for the full comissioning of the J-KAREN-P laser system. Full commissioning tests were carried out in March and April 2016 by gradually increasing the energy on the target. The achieved laser intensity on target is currently up to 1021 Wcm-2 with an energy of 14 J on target. The interaction with a target of 5-µm stainless steel provides us with electrons having a typical temperature of ~10 MeV and an energetic proton beam with a maximum energy of ~32 MeV.
