内容記述 | Recently, the racetrack-shape fixed field induction accelerator (RAFFIA) was proposed as a unique driver to obtain high-energy giant cluster ions such as C_60 and Si_108. The first realistic model of the accelerator is now under designing. In this paper, the current status of the development are described including an ion source, beam optics of the ring, magnets, extraction devices, and acceleration cells. The present results indicate that the construction of the machine is technically possible although further optimization of the system is still needed. | |||||
