| 内容記述 | Hemoglobin in bony fishes and higher vertebrates is a tetrameric protein constructed by 2 a- and 2 b-globins. We demonstrated previously the Southern Japanese population of Oryzias latipes (H-drR strain) has 8 a- and 6 b-globin genes in 2 different clusters, and these 14 globin genes are categorized into 4 groups in terms of the developmental stage-specific expression (Maruyama et al., 2004 2012, GENE). Molecular phylogenetic analysis showed the a- and b- globins of about 40 teleostean species are classified into 4 groups, Group I (Embryonic Hb), Group II (Notothenioid Major Adult Hb), Group III (Anodic Adult Hb) and Group IV (Cathodic Adult Hb) (Maruyama et al., 2004 MOD). Especially in the H-drR strain, the b5(yb) gene belonging to Group III was pseudogenized and not expressed. We searched the b5(yb) gene in other species of genus Oryzias. In Northern Japanese and Korean population (HNI, HSOK, O. latipes), b5(yb) were pseudogenized like in the H-drR strain. In the Philippine population (O. luzonensis), b5(yb) was not located at the similar position to that in the H-drR strain. Interestingly, b5(yb) in the Indonesian population (O. celebensis) was not pseudogenized and its amino acid was predictable. We will report the expression of this Indonesian b5(yb) gene and the activity of its promoter region. |
