内容記述 | To estimate concentrations of selenium (Se) and arsenic (As) in crops, transfer factors (TFs) from soil to crops, which is defined as concentration of an element in crop (mg/kg-dry) divided by that in soil (mg/kg), have been reported. However, it is not well known that whether there are any climate change effects on TFs of Se and As or not. In this study, therefore, Se and As were measured in brown rice and soil collected from the northern and the southern parts of Japan considering cool and warm areas, respectively, and compare the obtained TF-Se and TF-As between warm and cool areas. For sampling site selection, a criterion was set, that is, prefectures where temperature exceed more than 25 degrees C for 140 or more days were classified as warm areas, and less than 70 days were classified as cool areas. Seven and twelve samples were collected in the worm and the cool areas, respectively. The soil and crop samples were separately digested with mineral acids (a mixture of HNO3, HF and HClO4) using a microwave digester (CEM, Mars 5). After diluting the acid solutions to a suitable concentration, elements in both crop and soil samples were measured with a reaction cell type ICP-MS (Agilent 7500c). Concentrations of Se and As in soil ranged 0.24-0.58 and 4.1-8.3 mg/kg-dry in warm areas, respectively, and 0.39-1.2 and 8.6-19 mg/kg-dry in cool areas, respectively. For TFs, no significant difference was found for TF-As by areas, however, TF-Se was higher in warm areas. |
