内容記述 Radioiodine (129I) has been released into the environment due to the operation of nuclear facilities, and is also one of the dominant radionuclides in transuranium waste repository assessment. The partitioning ratios among solid (PS), liquid (PL), and gas (PG) phases as well as the soil-soil solution distribution coefficient (Kd) in soil are important for long-term dose assessments from 129I. We determined the partitioning ratios in the three phases and Kd for iodide (I-), which is one of the major inorganic chemical forms of I in the environment. A batch sorption test was carried out using 63 paddy soil samples collected throughout Japan under two different temperature conditions, that is, 4 C and 23 C, considering the biological effects.
The PS ranged from 16 to 84% at 4 C and from 29 to 96% at 23 C. The PL ranged from 11 to 82% at 4 C and from 1.6 to 64% at 23 C. Interestingly, I-; emission from soil was observed; PG ranged from 0 to 27% at 4 C and from 0 to 42% at 23 C. All of the partitioning ratios differed significantly between 4 C and 23 C in t-test (p < 0.01). Additionally, The Kd values ranged from 2 to 80 L/kg at 4 C and from 4.5 to 570 L/kg at 23 C. Then correlations between Kd values and soil properties such as pH and clay content were analyzed using Spearman's rank correlation test. It was found that Kd values at 23 C had a good correlation with pH with rank correlation coefficient Rs of 0.49 (p < 0.01) though there was no correlation between Kd values at 4 C and pH.
