内容記述 The concentrations for dissolved heavy metals (Cd, Fe, and Co), Y, and rare earth elements (REEs) in the Yura River, estuarine mixing zone, and offshore region in Wakasa Bay were de-termined by ICP-MS. Data on salinity, pH, turbidity, and concentrations of nutrients in these areas were also obtained. A rapid increase in dissolved Cd concentrations was observed at low salinity in the mouth of the Yura River, and was presumably due to the inorganic complexation of the metal by seawater anions. In con-trast, the dramatic removal of dissolved Fe in the estuary was attributed to flocculation of colloidal Fe. Dis-solved Y and REE concentrations had maximum values at low salinity, probably due to an adsorption-desorption interaction with suspended particles, and then they sharply decreased in the estuarine mixing zone. The river water discharge would contribute high concentrations for dissolved Fe, Y, La, and Nd in the off-shore region. Thus the riverine trace metal input is one of the important sources for oceanic trace metals.
