| 内容記述 | The long-lived radioisotope 99Tc is of potential long-term importance in the environment for safety assessments of reprocessing plants and underground disposal of radioactive waste. To indirectly understand Tc behavior in tropical soil-plant systems, we have chosen to measure Re concentrations due to their physico-chemical similarities (Brookins,1988) and easier handling of Re. Because Re is one of the rarest elements in the crust of earth, no data have been obtained for soil and plant samples. Recently, it has become possible to use high sensitivity ICP-MS and super pure reagents to measure low-level Re in soil and sediments (e.g., Crusius et al., 1996; Pearson and Woodland, 2000; Tagami and Uchida, 2001). In this study, total and water soluble Re concentrations in soil samples collected in 2000 and 2001 were determined to better understand Re mobility in the natural environment. The fate of Re in soil-plant environments was compared with that of Tc. |
