内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 Analyses of stable isotopes and some natural radioisotopes in crops and their associated soils collected throughout Japan were carried out in order to obtain TFs under equilibrium conditions. About 40-50 elements such as Cs, Sr, Se, Th and U in plant and soil samples were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES).
Crops, e.g., rice, wheat, cabbage, spinach, carrot, radish and potato, and associated soils were collected throughout Japan. The soil samples were air-dried and passed through a 2-mm mesh sieve. Each dried and crashed sample, 100 mg for soil and 500 mg for crops, were digested with mineral acids using a microwave digester. After the microwave digestion, each sample was evaporated to near dryness and the residue was dissolved in 20 mL of 2% nitric acid. About 40-50 elements, including Cs, Sr, Th and U, in both crop and soil samples were measured by ICP-MS and ICP-IES after diluting the acid solutions to a suitable concentration.
The TFs were calculated from the concentrations of the radioactive or natural isotope in both crop and soil samples. The TF is defined as the concentration of an isotope in a crop (in Bq/kg or mg/kg dry weight) divided by the concentration of the isotope in soil (in Bq.kg or mg/kg dry weight). Average TFs for each element were from 0.0008 (Al) to 1.51 (K). The values for the elements of interest from the viewpoint of long-term dose assessment were 0.09-0.88 for Sr, 0.0046-0.073 for Cs, 0.0015-0.026 for Th and 0.0021-0.026 for U. These were within the values compiled by IAEA in Technical Report Series 364.
