内容記述 | Technetium is expected to be in a soluble form of pertechnetate (TcO4-) under aerobic conditions, however, this changes through a combination of factors such as redox conditions and microbial activity. In this study, a radiotracer experiment was carried out to clarify the influence of microbial activity on Tc chemical form in soil under waterlogged conditions. Air-dried soil with 0, 0.05, or 0.5% glucose contents and sterile soil were used to compare the effect of microbial activity. The soils were waterlogged with 95mTcO4- solution and kept at room temperature. The surface and bottom solutions were collected and their 95mTc activities were measured with a NaI (Tl) scintillation counter. Relative activities of Tc in the surface solutions of the air-dried soils decreased with increasing glucose concentration, however, those of sterile soils were almost constant during the experiment. The TcO4- could be readily changed to insoluble forms during waterlogging and the Tc sorbed onto soils. To clarify the role of microorganisms in Tc sorption onto the soil, another experiment using sterile soil with added soil solution obtained from a mixture of air-dried soil and water was carried out. The Tc extractabilities with 0.05M calcium chloride (water soluble and exchangeable Tc) for the sterile soil sample did not change during 14 days. However, those for the air-dried soil and the sterile soil with soil solution extracted from air-dried soil decreased. The extraction results with 0.1M sodium pyrophosphate (organically bound Tc) implied that a part of the sorbed Tc was bound to the soil organic matter. |
