内容記述 Radiation detector made of synthetic diamond has many advantages as high resolution and pulse mode radiation detector. Synthetic diamond detector has been checked its characteristics with electric tests and radiation sources in laboratories. Here, in order to investigate more detail of its character, high energy heavy ion beams from HIMAC were irradiated to the synthetic diamond detector. Because these beams can penetrate the diamond detector and give it much deposit energy, characteristic at deeper part of synthetic diamond detector can be investigated. Using heavy ion beams like Iron 500 MeV/u, Silicon 800 MeV and so on, saturation curve for bias voltage was obtained and a diamond detector showed saturation from 700 V to 2000 V. Polarization effect, which is a phenomenon of decreasing of output signals, was not confirmed for 5 hours in continuous beam irradiation. Uniformity of response in the sensitive area was confirmed and the response was very uniform. Finally, energy resolution of a diamond detector for deposit energy was investigated and dE/E for Iron 500 MeV/u was 0.0172. The value was compared to calculation data from GEANT4 simulation and the discrepancy was 11 percents. We present these obtained results from heavy ion beams exposures to our synthetic diamond detectors.
