内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 We studied the effects of low dose heavy particle radiation to CNS system using mouse neonatal brain cells prepared from SCID and B6 mice. The cultured brain cells were irradiated to heavy ions by HIMAC at NIRS and NSRL at BNL. The applied dose varied from 0.05Gy up to 2.0Gy. The subsequent biological effects were evaluated by an induction of apoptosis and survivability of neurons. The radiation induced apoptosis of brain cells indicated a dose dependency when the dose was increased up to 1Gy and reached to a steady level of approximately 35%. In this report, we compared the LET dependency in different heavy ions using by HIMAC (H, C, Ne, Si, Ar, and Fe) and by NSRL(C, Ti, Fe). With using both facilities, LET dependency on the apoptosis was only found in the high LET regions. The survivability of the neurons measured by immunohistocemical staining (anti-MAP2 and anti-GFAP) were the most sensitive to radiation in the mixed culture. The neurons were disappeared in dose dependent manner and survival rate reached approximately 10% at 2 Gy. The survivability profiles of the neuron were different in the mouse strain and irradiated ions.We studied the effects of low dose heavy particle radiation to CNS system using mouse neonatal brain cells prepared from SCID and B6 mice.
