内容記述 | In order to investigate volatilization of iodine by fungi, we have carried out radiotracer experiments using I-125. Seven fungi (Alternaria alternata, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus oryzae, Penicillium roquefortii, Penicillium chrysogenum, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Cladosporium resinae) were used in this study. The percentage evaporation of iodine (I-125) from the medium was highest in P. roqueforti (0.5%), followed by P. chrysogenum (0.2%). The lowest evaporation was found in C. resinae (0.02%). The uptakes of iodine by fungi were also studied. A. alternata showed the highest accumulation rate (percentage of I-125 accumulated in fungi from medium) of 50%. The accumulation rate of iodine by C. resinae was about 0.2%, which was the lowest value in this experiment. Although C. cladosporioide and C. resinae belong to the same genus, the behaviors of iodine were different between these fungi. |
