内容記述 | Proteins have a hierarchy of dynamics from local side-chain motions, through segmental and domain motions, to diffusion of the entire molecules. Elucidating how the dynamics at these different scales are related to each other is important for elucidation of the mechanisms of the protein functions. The dynamics at the different scales thus needs to be measured under the same condition. Here we propose a new method to measure the multiscale dynamics of the proteins. Combination of neutron and light scattering distinguishes the local motions, segmental motions, and diffusion of the entire molecules. We applied this method to ribonuclease A in the folded, molten-globule, and unfolded states, and showed that the degrees of the segmental motions are different in these states. | |||||
