内容記述 | Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is an imaging technique of positron (β+) emitting radionuclides distribution in human body, which non-invasively provides functional information to identify diseases and abnormalities. Although some positron emitters have been practically used for the PET imaging, all of them have short half-life; the longest lived positron emitter available, F-18, has only 110 min. This propensity has impeded widespread use of the PET imaging. Br-76 (t1/2 = 16. 1 h) has been of interest for its potential in PET imaging because its longer half-life than the abovementioned conventional PET nuclides would allow us to overcome many problems. Therefore, this background led us to investigate how to produce a sufficient amount of Br for the PET imaging application. In this talk, improvement and optimization of Br-76 isolation using dry distillation approach for its future automation was described. In addition, evaluations of Br-76 labeled compounds for cancer PET imaging by our group will be also presented. |
