内容記述 | Large amount of radionuclides were released into the atmosphere as well as directly discharged into the sea as a consequence of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident caused by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami on March 11, 2011. The radionuclides in the marine environment played high risk for seafood safety thus attracted great scientific and public concern. In contrast with the intensive studies on the behaviors of the radionuclides with relatively short half-live (such as 134Cs, 137Cs, 129I etc.) in the ocean, information about the actinides, especially Pu isotopes, is currently limited. Pu isotopes are regarded as highly hazardous pollutants in the marine environment due to their radiotoxicity and long half-lives. Since the release of radionuclides into the ocean still continues even two years after the accident, the characterization of Pu isotopes in marine samples off Fukushima needs continuous investigation. For this purpose, rapid and precise analysis methods for the determination of Pu isotopes in marine sediment and seawater samples are highly needed. In this work, we firstly established a simple method for the measurement of Pu in sediment and seawater samples by SF-ICP-MS. Then we determined Pu isotopes (239Pu, 240Pu, 241Pu) and Pu atom ratios (240Pu/239Pu, 241Pu/239Pu) in the sediment and seawater samples off Fukushima collected after the FDNPP accident to assess the impact of the accident on the Pu distribution in marine environment. The detailed analytical procedures and merits of this method together with the results of Pu isotopes in the sediment and seawater samples will be discussed at the conference. \nThis work was supported by MEXT (24110004), Japan and partly supported by METI, Japan. |
