内容記述 Metaphase finder is a tool for biodosimetry that finds metaphase chromosomes among blood cells on slide glasses. It consists of microscope, auto-focus system, automated X-Y stage, camera and computer. It does the image diagnosis of the microscopic images of the slide glasses, and displays the positions of metaphase cells. A metaphase finder is used for the personnel worked at Fukushima nuclear plant to know how much dose they irradiated.
The author and colleagues have already reported a low-cost metaphase finder system (1), using commercially-available products. But the system was a combination of multiple manufacturers and then it requires much knowledge and skill to the resellers and users.
The author recently reported a new metaphase finder system (2). It was made by the catalogue products of single manufacturer, and its software was written in macro language for ordinal microscope controller, which is also shown on the catalogue. Except macro program, no custom made parts was used. Its speed is 5.38 minutes per 1 square centimeter of a slide glass, when we used 4x objective lens and 1600 x 1200 pixels camera. The system becomes more compact and less price. It would be another choice for resellers and users, but its speed was needed to faster.
Then, the author has collaborated with a software company and started new project to make another system. This system is using new special software for same microscope as recent one. This system is expected to be faster than non-custom made system.
