| 内容記述 | Radiation in the space station has been measured with several detectors and dosemeters; however, high-energy neutrons from 10 to 100 MeV were not yet, because neutron detectors have to discriminate neutrons from protons and gamma rays. We developed the phoswich-typed neutron detector, able to measure high energy neutrons separately from protons and gammas. In this study, we measure neutron energy spectra at high altitude, 10 km in order to verify the detector possibility of neutron measurement in the space station. Because radiation environment in an aircraft consists of neutrons, protons, gammas and electrons, the radiation environment is similar to that in the space station. The scientific aircraft cruised at 10 km ltitude and around the middle of Japan. The neutron detector can measure high-energy neutron separately from protons and other particles. Therefore, the detector can be applied to neutron monitor in the space station for radiation protection of astronauts. | |||||
