内容記述 | In nuclear medicine imaging, patient motion can cause deterioration og image quality. Therefore, there is a need of patient motion detection and correction. Conventional techniques use commercial devices with multiple cameras and multiple pointlike markers for head motion tracking. However, the techniques cannot be used in long narrow spaces available in the present brain PET. We proposed a new head motion measurement method that could be used in long narrow spaces available in the present brain PET. Weproposed a new head motion measurement method that could be used in long narrow spaces. This method consists of only one solid marker and one movie camera. Wecan track maker's angles (gamma, beta, phi) asa well as positions (x, y) from maker appearance in the image with a clustering algorithm. In the previous study, we have proved that this method offers sufficient precisions. Before the present study, each image frame was processed independently. The dateprocessing speed was 1 frame/sec with a PowerBook G4 (1.33 GHz). This speed was too slow and should be more than ten times higher. In order to make this method useful for head motion correction in brain PET imaging, its data-processing method must be improved particularly in its speed. For speed-up of the data-processing, we built in the technique that used the prosessing result of the previous frame as an initial value. In addition, an iMac G5 (1.9GHz) was introduced. As a result, the image-prosessing speed became five times higher by the algorithm improvement and two times higher by the introduction of a new PC, a more than ten times speed-up is realized. In addition, we are planning to introduce a more powerful PC and use a plug-in tool of an image data-taking and -processing software to unify the data-handing. | |||||
