内容記述 | Laser plasma electron accelerators require a longitudinal electric field of the plasma wave oscillation driven by the ponderomotive force of the relativistic- intense laser. In order to produce such oscillations, several methods have been reported and examined. Among such schemes, a beat-wave laser accelerator was first demonstrated because of its efficient plasma wave excitation. The beat-wave is driven by two different frequencies of laser fields. When the beat-wave frequency, the difference of that of two lasers, matches the plasma frequency, the plasma wave oscillations can be resonantly excited and results in the large amplitude of the electric field. For example, two laser systems with different spectrum center of 810 nm and 790 nm can resonantly excite plasma wave at 1 x 10^{18} cm^{-3} plasma density, and then would produce maximum electron energy of 30 MeV with 0.1 TW total laser power. Those are now can be achieved with table-top laser systems. These will pave the way for broad applications represented as radiological therapies. We will report on-going table-top beat-wave electron acceleration system developments. | |||||
