内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to investigate the retinal response to accelerated carbon ion irradiation. Eight weeks old rats were used in this experiment. Under anesthesia, a positive electrode was attached on the cornea and a negative electrode was attached on the nasal bone. Area of carbon ion irradiation was 100mm diameter and the strength was 2x109and 2x108pps with 290MeV/u. The eyes of rats were placed at bragg peak or entrance of the beam. Retinal responses to light stimulation were also recorded before and after carbon ion irradiation. Corneal positive responses were recorded with irradiation of carbon ion at both bragg peak and entrance. But these responses became very small or almost extinguished to the second irradiation with interval of about 1 second. Even when the response to carbon ion irradiation was extinguished, the responses to light stimulation were still recordable. We presumed two possibility for this response evoked by carbon ion. One is that the responses were evoked only by rod photoreceptor and the other is the retinal response evoked by carbon ion irradiation might have different origin from response to light. | |||||
