内容記述 | To investigate whether carbon ion beam had beneficial effects by targeting putative human liver cancer stem cells, cancer stem-like cells sorted from HepG2, Huh7 were treated with or without carbon ion or X-ray irradiation and then colony and spheroid formation assays, H2AX foci immunofluorescence assays, as well as xenograft tumor growth control analyses were performed. CD133+/CD90+ cells significantly have higher number of colonies, spheres compared to CD133-/CD90- cells. CD133+/CD90+ cells were showed radioresistance to both X-ray and carbon ion beam, but the carbon ion beam more effectively killed those of cancer stem-like cells. In addition, carbon ion beam has more potential to eradicate xenograft tumors compared to X-rays at isoeffective doses. In conclusion, carbon ion beam has a great advantage in targeting radioresistant human liver cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. | |||||
