内容記述 | The Energetic Particle Detector (EPD) suite for ESA's Solar Orbiter will provide key measurements to addressparticle acceleration at and near the Sun. The EPD suite cinsists of four sensors (STEP, SIS, EPT, and HET) The University of Kiel in Germany is responsible for the design, development, and builds EPT-HET and STEP. The Electron Proton Telescope (EPT) is designed to cleanly separate and measure slectrons in the energy range from 20-400keV and protons from 0.02-~15MeV. It will cover the gap with some overlap between suprathemal electrons and protons measured by STEP ans high-energy electrons and protons measured by HET. The EPT relies on the magnet/foil-technique. The High-Energy Telescope(HET) on ESA's Solar Orbiter mission, will measure s;ectrons from 300keV up to 15 MeV, protons from 10-100MeV, and heavy ions from~20 to 200 MeV/nuc. These measurement capabilities are reached by a combination of solid-state detectors and a scintillator calorimeter that allows use of the dE/sx vs. total E technique for particle identification and energy measurement. To evaluate EPT anti-coincidence technique 50MeV deuterons were used, as well as to estimate HET scintillation crystal response to 50 MeV deuterons by utilizing the facility of Cyclotron of NIRS, Japan. Preliminary results of this experiment are discussed in the report. | |||||
