内容記述 | The fractionated irradiation is standard protocol for radiotherapy. There are big differences between single and fractionation. It is necessary to get the results using fractionated irradiation to know the effects in clinical. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of fractionated irradiation for metastasis. A mouse osteosarcoma cells, LM8 and the inoculated tumors were irradiated with C-ions at the center of SOBP and X-rays. The effects to cell survival, migration and invasion potentials were examined. Tumor cell survival in vivo and metastatic fraction were examined by in vivo-in vitro assay and spontaneous lung metastasis model, respectively. After fractionated irradiation, cell survival, migration and invasion activities increased depend on the fraction number, and the degree of increase was more significant after X-rays than C-ions. Tumor cell survival in vivo and the lung metastasis also showed the tendency of increase depend on the fraction number, and these effects were also more remarkable by X-rays than C-ions. It is confirmed that the anti-metastatic effects after fractionated irradiation were decreased compared with single irradiation, however the degree was smaller for C-ions than X-rays. It was suggested that carbon ion therapy was superior to photon therapy for metastasis even for fractionated radiotherapy. | |||||
