内容記述 The dry distillation approach has been mainly employed for the isolation of bromine-76 (Br-76), clinically potent positron emitting radionuclide for PET. However, the conventional approach is not suitable for automation of the isolation process. Improvement of the distillation system was there performed in this study by introducing a water trap for the recovery of Br-76 instead of the thermal chromatography technique. Prior to the isolation studies, isotopically enriched copper selenide, a target material for Br-76 production, was prepared. X-ray diffraction spectroscopy showed that copper selenide was successfully formed by heating the mixture of Cu and Se-76 under sufficiently high vacuum condition. Isolation studies using cost-effectively producible Br-77 demonstrated that reasonable recovery efficiency (66.5 ± 5.3%) was achieved by the new distillation system. Large-scale isolation studies showed that subGBq to GBq order of Br-76 was successfully recovered under the optimization condition. Since the isolated radiobromine had high radionuclide purity, these results strongly suggested that enough radioactivity of highly pure Br-76 to provide several patients will be recovered by using the improved system, more suitable for the future automation of its isolating process.
