内容記述 The effects of ionizing radiations on somatic stem cells largely remain to be tudied. Hair follicles are self-renewing structures that reconstitute themselves through the cycle comprising anagen (growing phase), catagen (regression hase) and telogen (resting phase), suggesting the presence of their own stem cells. In the past study, γ-rays were irradiated whole body of 22~24-day-old (P22~P24, the 1st telogen) C57BL/10JHir mice, and the effects of radiations were analyzed at the 2nd anagen, P35~P37. The decrease in the density of hair follicles and the increase in the frequency of hypopigmented hair bulbs were observed in a dose-dependent manner. In this study, we analyzed the effects of radiations on the regeneration of hair follicle at the 3rd anagen, P100. The density of hair follicle was decreased and curved hair follicles were also found. In addition to these keratinocyte-derived anomalies, melanocyte-derived anomalies such as white hair and hypopigmented hair bulbs were also found. These results suggest that the effects of γ-rays on the regeneration of hair follicles are carried over to the later generation.
