内容記述 | We propose a biologically compatible, high-sensitivity, intra-corporeal catheter-type liquid dosimeter with low toxicity to confirm absorbed dose for radiation treatment planned by Monte Carlo simulation and reduce the risk of side effects during prostate cancer therapy. Coumarin-3-carboxylic acid (C3CA) or terephthalic acid (TA) dosimeters in low-dose regions, 0.01–2 Gy (J/kg), were investigated using -rays, 12C6+ ions, and 56Fe26+ ions. The fluorescence intensities of C3CA and TA dosimeters exhibited a linear response to doses of irradiation. Dosimetry of the organs surrounding a cancerous mass, where the dose was one or two-fold smaller than that in the cancer tissue, was demonstrated using C3CA and TA catheter-type dosimeters with a water phantom. The measured dose decreased with increasing distance from the target area; notably, our results could be reconstructed by Monte Carlo simulation. These dosimeters are composed of biological equivalent chemicals and can evaluate biological equivalent absorbed dose. They are useful in radiotherapy applications within a medical setting and may improve precision of radiation treatment while reducing risk of side effects. | |||||
