内容記述 Ceramic thermoluminescence detectors (TLD) are very easy to deal, low-cost devices, with high spatial resolution. The basic characteristics of alumina-based ceramic TLD (Chiba Ceramic Mfg. Co., Ltd. A8) to X-ray and charged particle beams (H, He, C, Ne, Ar) have been reported in order to apply TLD to a QA/QC tool in charged particle therapy. The glow curve had two peaks, and the main peak was located at 148 °C and 694 nm. In each irradiation, four dose levels were given as 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 5.0 Gy in water. The main peak showed good linearity and repeatability to X-ray. However, thermoluminescence efficiency decreased slightly with the increasing irradiation dose with charged particle irradiation. The thermoluminescence efficiency of the main peak showed very small LET dependency as compared to common TLDs. This ceramic TLD might be applicable as a verification tool in a limited LET range such as proton therapy.
