内容記述 | Particle beams such as protons and heavier ions show an increase in nergy deposition with penetration depth up to a maxi-mum at the end of their range, the so-called Bragg perk. Almost no dose is deposited in normal tissue beyond the Bragg peak. The particle range is determined by the energy of the incoming particles. Favorable dose distributions with a steep dpse fall-off at the field borders. and thus more precise dose lo-calization as compared with photon beams, can be achieved. As a ing toxicity in the nearby normal tissues. | |||||
