内容記述 | Superheated emulsion has made its widespread application for the detection of neutron. One of the recent developments of this detector is the detection of heavy ions. The present work includes the nucleation in superheated emulsion detector by heavy ions. In this report, the experiments with 40Ar (500MeV/u) and 20Ne (230MeV/u) are presented and a correction term has been added in the count rate analysis. The threshold degree of meta stability, ssth, is determined by observing the variation of normalized response of the detector as a function of operating temperature. The ssth for the two ions are estimated using the relationships between critical energy and the track averaged LET. | |||||
