内容記述 | Recently, we determined the structure of two globin gene clusters of medaka Oryzias latipes (Euteleostei; Beloniformes; Oryziinae): One was named "embryonic globin gene cluster (E1)", consisted of the organized genes such as 5'a03'-3'b15'-5'a13'-5'b23'-5'a23'-3'a35'-5'b33'-3'b45'-5'a43'-3'ya5'-5'yb3', and mapped on linkage group (LG) 8 (Maruyama et al, 2004B). The other cluster was named "adult globin gene cluster (A1)", consisted of 3'ad.a15'-5'ad.b13'-3'ad.a25', and mapped on LG 19. In the loci, the genes of b1/a1, a3/b3, b4/a4, ya/yb and ad.a1/ad.b1 were organized in a head-to-head orientation in respect of transcriptional polarity, while the genes of a0, a1 and a2 were tandem arranged with the same orientation. The results suggested occurrence of evolutionary events such as chromosomal translocation, duplication of a/b-paired genes, tandem duplication of single a genes and change of one pair of a/b-paired genes into pseudogenes (ya/yb). According to the RELL algorithm in the MOLPHY program, we compared amino acid sequences predicted from the medaka genes with those of 42 a or 55 b teleostean globins. The phylogenetic trees suggested that the teleostean globins were classified into at least four groups, tentatively named "Embryonic Hb Group (I)", "Notothenioid Major Adult Hb Group (II)", "Anodic Adult Hb Group (III)" and "Cathodic Adult Hb Group (IV)". The medaka genes, a0, b1, a1, a2, a3, b3, b4 and a4, were classified into the group I, while the genes, ad.a1 and ad.b1, into the group II. Further analysis showed a possibility that the genes ya/yb and b2/ad.a2 were assigned into the group III and IV, respectively. Thus, globin genes in the present medaka would be diversified from the ancestral genes of the four groups. We provided a hypothesis on a pathway of medaka globin gene evolution. | |||||
