Construction and validation of the Linear IFMIF Prototype Accelerator (LIPAc) have been and are being pursued in Rokkasho, Aomori, Japan, under the EU-JA collaborative framework of the IFMIF/EVEDA project as a part of the Broader Approach (BA) agreement signed between EURATOM and the Japanese Government in 2007. Because the IFMIF requires an accelerator with unprecedented performances to provide 40 MeV, 125 mA D+ beams in CW mode, the feasibility is being tested with a 1:1-scale prototype of the low energy part up to 9 MeV, namely the LIPAc, where the space charge effects of the beams are significant. The poster presentation in the symposium intends to give an overview of the beam diagnostics devices in the LIPAc with some results from the beam measurements during what we call the beam commissioning Phase B+ that was completed in June 2024. One of the major goals of Phase B+ was to test the beam diagnostics devices implemented along the beam line. Most of the diagnostics devices have been validated with beams and made use of for comprehensive understanding of the beam properties so far, while some needs of improvements were identified in preparation to Phase C adding SRF linac. |
