Soft X-ray spectroscopy based on high-order harmonic generation (HHG) enables ultrafast studies of carrier and phonon dynamics through core-level excitation with ultrashort pulses. While transmission measurements are limited to ultrathin samples, reflection-mode spectroscopy allows investigations of bulk materials and interfaces. Using a tabletop HHG source driven by a 2000 nm, 5 kHz laser, we demonstrate reflection soft X-ray spectroscopy of titanium oxides, revealing valence-dependent shifts at the Ti L-edge. |
