| 内容記述 | Alpha-emitting radionuclides have recently garnered attention for use in targeted alpha therapy (TAT). An alpha-emitting radionuclide, 211At, is a promising candidate for TAT due to its physical and chemical properties. However, astatine exhibits distinct chemical behaviors compared to its homologue iodine. Understanding the fundamental chemical properties of astatine remains challenging, largely due to its limited availability, which can only be produced via accelerators. In our previous thin layer chromatography (TLC) studies, the identification of At-, AtO3-, and AtO4- was confirmed and the observed high volatility of astatine was reasonably attributed to the formation of At0(0) via an oxidation-reduction reaction between At-(-I) and AtO3-(V). To further investigate the volatility of dissolved astatine, we conducted additional experimental studies using astatine radioisotopes produced in the nuclear reactions of natPb(7Li,xn)nat-xAt and 209Bi(7Li,5n)211Rn at the JAEA tandem accelerator facility. This work presents experimental results concerning volatility of dissolved astatine and discusses the underlying mechanism. | |||||||||
