| 内容記述 | The polarized proton solid target was developed for the spin correlation coefficient measurement toward three-nucleon force research. The electromagnet of the polarized proton target was newly designed for dynamic nuclear polarization based on photo-exited triplet electron spins (triplet-DNP) using a single crystal of naphthalene (C10H8) doped with deuterated pentacene (C22D14). The polarized target system can be operated in 0.3 T and at 100 K and has a large aperture of 60? to the azimuthal angles of ?? = 0?, 90?, 180?, and 270? for the scattered particles. The trajectory simulation for the scattered deuterons and recoiled protons in a deuteronproton (????) elastic scattering indicates that the measurement of the spin correlation coefficient between ??c.m. = 69.6??150.7? in the center-of-mass system at ????? = 100 MeV can be applicable. Proton?proton scattering experiment at 200 MeV was performed to determine the target polarization and to investigate radiation damage due to beam irradiations. From a scattering asymmetry, the proton polarization is determined to ?????? ? 0.3 but is strongly depolarized by the radiation damage. The radiation damage is analyzed quantitatively by decomposing into target heating and radical generation. The former is dominant up to 106 count per second and the latter becomes a major contribution at the higher beam intensities. Finally, the performance of the spin correlation coefficient measurement at the ???? elastic scattering is discussed. Combined with the polarized deuteron ion source at RIKEN, the expected statistical accuracy is comparable to the previous studies at IUCF. |
