An intense neutron source facility in Japan, A-FNS aims at irradiation test of the fusion materials under the similar radiation damage environment by deuterium-tritium fusion neutrons in the fusion reactor. In the beam commissioning phase and common operation phase of A-FNS, total neutron yield and energy spectrum should be measured precisely using a neutron spectrum monitor system. We are working on the design of the neutron spectrum monitor system using activation method to be focused on high energy neutrons, which cause displacement damage and helium production in the material. In this article, we describe the design status of the neutron spectrum monitor system with activation method and the related experimental study using d-Li neutrons, which have similar neutron spectrum to that from A-FNS.
