Type-I ELMs must be constantly suppressed/mitigated using externally applied magnetic perturbations. Therefore, non-axisymmetric (3-D) magnetic field will be part of the daily life at ITER. We need to be able to predict the effect of these weak externally magnetic perturbations on the confinement of energetic particles (EP). ITER Research Plan (IRP) activity B.11.11. promotes the development of corresponding stability analysis tools and their validation with specially designed experiments. The speaker (A.B.) has been appointed as responsible person for this activity and the purpose of this presentation is to introduce it to the Japanese fusion research community, ask for advice, and discuss possibilities for domestic collaborations., MHD及び高エネルギー粒子が核融合炉心プラズマに与える影響に関する研究会}, title = {ITER Research Plan (IRP) Activity B.11.11: Energetic Particle Stability with external magnetic perturbation}, year = {2021} }
