In this study, we examined the effects of gamma-ray irradiation on blastula embryos of medaka and found transient delay of brain development even when they hatched normally with low dose irradiation (2 and 5 Gy). In contrast, irradiation of higher dose (10 Gy) gamma-rays killed the embryos with malformations before hatching. We then conducted targeted irradiation of blastoderm with a collimated carbon-ion microbeam. When a part (3.8, 11 and 24%) (about 4, 10 and 25%) of blastoderm cells were injured by lethal dose (50 Gy) of carbon-ion microbeam irradiation, loss of about 10% or less of blastoderm cells induced only the transient delay of brain development and the embryos hatched normally, whereas embryos with about 25% of their blastoderm cells were irradiated stopped development at neurula stage and died. These findings strongly suggest that the developmental disturbance in the IR irradiated embryos is determined by the proportion of severely injured cells in the blastoderm.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_8_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"MDPI"}]},"item_8_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.3390/biology9120447","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_8_relation_17":{"attribute_name":"関連サイト","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://www.mdpi.com/2079-7737/9/12/447","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_8_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"2079-7737","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Yasuda, Takako"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005857","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Funayama, Tomoo"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005858","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Nagata, Kento"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005859","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Li, Duolin"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005860","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Endo, Takuya"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005861","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Jia, Qihui"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005862","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Suzuki, Michiyo"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005863","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Ishikawa, Yuji"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005864","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Mitani, Hiroshi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005865","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Oda, Shoji"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005866","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Tomo, Funayama","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005867","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kento, Nagata","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005868","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Michiyo, Suzuki","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005869","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Yuuji, Ishikawa","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1005870","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Collimated Microbeam Reveals that the Proportion of Non-Damaged Cells in Irradiated Blastoderm Determines the Success of Development in Medaka (Oryzias latipes) Embryos","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Collimated Microbeam Reveals that the Proportion of Non-Damaged Cells in Irradiated Blastoderm Determines the Success of Development in Medaka (Oryzias latipes) Embryos"}]},"item_type_id":"8","owner":"1","path":["1"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2020-10-22"},"publish_date":"2020-10-22","publish_status":"0","recid":"81232","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Collimated Microbeam Reveals that the Proportion of Non-Damaged Cells in Irradiated Blastoderm Determines the Success of Development in Medaka (Oryzias latipes) Embryos"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-15T19:22:15.509032+00:00"}
