NB1RGB cells were pretreated with ultra-low-fluence radiations (~0.1 cGy/7-8 h) of Cs gamma rays, Am-Be neutrons, helium, carbon and iron ions before being exposed to an X-ray-challenging dose (1.5 Gy). Helium (LET = 2.3 keV/µm), carbon (LET = 13.3 keV/µm) and iron (LET = 200 keV/µm) ions were generated with the Heavy Ion Medical Accelerator in Chiba (HIMAC), Japan. No differences in cell death-measured by colony-forming assay-were observed regardless of the radiation type applied. In contrast, mutation frequency, which was detected through cell transformation into 6-thioguanine resistant clones, was 1.9 and 4.0 times higher in cells pretreated with helium and carbon ions, respectively, compared to cells exposed to X-ray-challenging dose alone. Moreover, cells pretreated with iron ions or gamma-rays showed a mutation frequency similar to cells exposed to X-ray-challenging dose alone, while cells pretreated with neutrons had 0.15 times less mutations. These results show that cellular responses triggered by ultra-low-fluence irradiations are radiation-quality dependent. Altogether, this study shows that ultra-low-fluence irradiations with the same level as those reported in the International Space Station are capable of inducing different cellular responses, including radio-adaptive responses triggered by neutrons and genomic instability mediated by high-LET heavy ions, while electromagnetic radiations (gamma rays) seem to have no biologic impact.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_8_relation_13":{"attribute_name":"PubMed番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"32824801","subitem_relation_type_select":"PMID"}}]},"item_8_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.3390/life10080154","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_8_relation_17":{"attribute_name":"関連サイト","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://www.mdpi.com/2075-1729/10/8/154/html","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_8_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"2075-1729","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Suzuki, Masao"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910398","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Uchihori, Yukio"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910399","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kitamura, Hisashi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910400","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Oikawa, Masakazu"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910401","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Konishi, Teruaki"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910402","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Suzuki, Masao","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910403","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Uchihori, Yukio","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910404","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kitamura, Hisashi","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910405","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Oikawa, Masakazu","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910406","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Konishi, Teruaki","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"910407","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Biologic Impact of Different Ultra-Low-Fluence Irradiations in Human Fibroblasts.","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Biologic Impact of Different Ultra-Low-Fluence Irradiations in Human Fibroblasts."}]},"item_type_id":"8","owner":"1","path":["1"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2020-08-25"},"publish_date":"2020-08-25","publish_status":"0","recid":"80364","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Biologic Impact of Different Ultra-Low-Fluence Irradiations in Human Fibroblasts."],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-15T21:04:18.560519+00:00"}
