However, light extraction efficiency of diamond is low because of its high refractive index of diamond. To meet the requirement, we performed the numerical optimization using a FDTD method of the grating coupler over the diamond substrate. Method We performed the numerical optimization of the number and pitch of grating using a Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method of the grating coupler over the diamond substrate. We compared the enhancement of the optical intensity with and without grating (FIG. 1).
