Chemical potential of hydrogen increases at high pressures above 1 GPa. Such reactive hydrogen enables us to realize novel hydrogenation reactions of metals and alloys to form novel hydrides. We are trying to synthesize iron-containing complex hydrides and aluminum-based hydrides under high pressure.
