The main challenge for the long pulse operation is to suppress beam current degradation which is caused by complications arising from the use of cesium to enhance the H- production in the ion source. In the test, optical emission spectroscopy of the Cs line emissions were analyzed to understand the behavior of Cs during the long pulse arc discharge.
