For such a high intensity laser pulse interaction especially with solid density targets, the real laser matter interaction is not as simple as an idealized high peak power laser pulse with a Gaussian-like temporal and spatial distribution solely interacting with an idealized solid density target. In particular, the temporal distribution of the laser pulse alters the target condition significantly. The J-KAREN-P laser system at the Kansai Photon Science Institute can , uncommonly for high power laser systems[1-5], provide real high intensity laser pulses on target of ~1022Wcm-2 with good laser contrast conditions and an almost diffraction limited spatial distribution. By the interaction between J-KAREN-P laser pulses and solid density target, we have achieved extra-ordinary strong electric field [3,4-7]. We describe how under appropriate conditions an extremely large electrostatic field can be established., ICUIL 2018}, title = {Extra-ordinary macroscopic strong electric field established by the high-peak high-contrast laser pulse interaction with a solid density target}, year = {2018} }
