Here, we report new results on the behavior of fast ions in the presence of reconnecting instabilities. When such reconnecting instabilities develop in our simulations, we observe a flattening in the density profiles of both the bulk plasma and the fast ions across a large portion of the plasma core. The results are explained on the basis of orbit-based resonance analysis combined with Poincarè maps, and the important role of magnetic drifts is demonstrated., 45th EPS Conference on Plasma Physics}, title = {Simulation and analysis of fast ion dynamics in a JT-60SA tokamak plasma subject to pressure- and current-driven instabilities}, year = {2018} }
